2012 HighlightsMy dream and goal for the future would be to excel and receive full scholarship for Track/Academics. I think playing sports beyond High School is every student athlete's ideal vision for the future. I am pushing hard to make it come true. I played Football, Basketball and Baseball until 7th grade. I dropped baseball in Jr. High and opted for Track. I continued in these three sports until winter of my sophomore year and then I focused on only football and track. My freshman year in Track I tried several different events to determine where I would do best and ended up settling in to the field "jumping" events. I did alternate on the sprint team in the 400 and relays. My sophomore year in football I played wide receiver and corner back on our JV High School team and in the Spring succeeded at earning my Varsity letter in Track for Jumps, still seeing some time on relay teams. I spent my Junior Season on the Varsity Football team as the starting Cornerback and then I had great success this Spring in Track. I made it to State in Long Jump finishing out the season in 6th place overall. In route to State I won the Greater Spokane League Men's 3A/4A Long Jump, placed 2nd in Men's 3A Triple Jump, and 7th in Men's 3A High Jump. I also was selected as 1st Team All GSL Boys. I went to Regionals in all three events and that is where I secured 1st place in Long Jump. I ended up 3rd in Triple Jump and 8th in High Jump. I have just finished track season and Spring Football has now started. I plan to weave in Mercury Track Club this Spring/Summer. I also will continue working with my coach Michael Johnston one on one to improve upon my accomplishments this year for next. I am excited for the strides and gains I am making on the field and know my Senior year is going to be excellent.
*Update - Just finished my last season in football. We had a great run. We finished 3rd in Washington State 3A only to lose to Bellevue in the Semifinals. I received ALL GSL 2nd Team Defensive Honors, as well as being named a scholar athlete.
I have a desire to go into Business Management and own my own business one day. I want to have a career that will provide a quality life in my future for myself and someday for my family.
Currently, I am striving to finish High School with a 3.5 or higher GPA, to ensure my success in college. This goal may seem easy for some but for me it is a challenge I have given myself. I have taken some very strong courses, AP and otherwise, that you will see on my transcript. These courses push me to work hard and stay focused. I enjoy camping, playing sports, long boarding, and I am active in leadership. I can see myself continuing in this as I go to college. I would like to continue to give back to my local community by helping with local charities or a local church.
Thank you for considering me for your program and I look forward to speaking with you.
