I dream of attending a division I school where I can not only continue as a track athlete, but where I can also acquire the education I need to succeed in life. In the last two years I have discovered the joy of sprinting. While competing in my first season (2013) I placed 7th in the 100m at the WIAA state track meet. Following that success I continued through the summer and ran in the regional Junior Olympic meets. I just completed my junior season of track where I took 4th place in both the 100m and 200m at the WIAA state track meet. I also led my 4x100m relay team to 6th place. I received all-league honors in both the 100m, 200m and 400m, and was named SPSL (South Puget Sound League) 2A Track Athlete of the Year. I am currently training for, and am planning on competing at, the Junior Olympic National meet in Humble Texas at the end of July.
I am a raw athlete, new to the sport, eager to learn, and am extremely coachable. I excel at every event I try. I would love to compete in the decathlon in college. I plan on attending pole vault camps this summer to learn proper form. I carry hurdles in my car and am learning the technique of striding over a hurdle instead of jumping over it. I also spend a significant amount of time in the weight room and on the track.
After graduating in 2015; I would like to attend a university where I can pursue a career in Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine, or Technology Services.
