Coaches Cross Cou...Running is in my blood.
Since I was three, my parents would take me to local 5 K races and let me run next to them. Eventually, they let me run on my own. I enjoy the freedom of running, clearing my mind, and burning off frustrations if needed. My personal goal is to follow my dream of becoming a professional runner, hoping to earn a doctorate in Physical Therapy. Being around a running community comforts me, and I thoroughly enjoy everything about Cross Country and Track.
Making friends and building relationships with others who share my passion for running are great ways to enter a new community and make friends quickly, something I have had to do as a child of an Air Force Officer. Moving from state to state can be depressing, leaving the little community I have become familiar with. Being a runner has the benefits of making friends quickly, pushing the sadness away of leaving my former teammates. But the use of today's technology is being able to stay in contact with all my former teammates and meet them at National Level XC/Track meets. I can adapt, overcome, and deal with situations quicker than most athletes who have never moved around the nation.
Besides running, I have a love for mountain biking. I volunteered for a year at a bike shop to learn how to work on bikes. I have found the biking community is similar to the running community. I enjoy them both.
