Colton Carlsen '22 Recruiting Profile

My parents have always encouraged and instiled into me that education is so important.  I have seen the examples of my Father working in the oil & gas industry and working endless hours away from home and being home 1 week out of each month.  The sacrifices that he has made for our family is so appreciated.  I am raised by parents that have always put my brothers and I first and to be a hard, dedicated person in today's society.  They have taught me that, I am owed nothing and that I must work hard for my dreams. I know no other way but, to always put in 110% as exampled from my parents.

I have always had a passion to be in the medical field.  I have it narrowed down to three different medical opportunities.  I have decided to work towards a medical degree in  sports medicine, physician assistant or an  anesthesiologist.  I have always felt a strong interest in sciences.  Medicine offers the continuing exploration of science and the need to approach constantly-changing situations while interacting with all types of people and personalities.  I am a people person, I love to interact with others, learn of their passions and their journey.  

I am aware of the long journey ahead of me, I am confident that I am strong, dedicated.  I am positive with my motivation and support of my family, supplemented with my skills that I have learned thus far I will become an excellent professional in the medical field and or law enforcement.
