After playing soccer for 10 years, as a freshman, I thought I would be pursuing collegiate soccer. It was not until the spring of my freshman year when I decided to begin playing competitive indoor volleyball. I not only realized that volleyball was incredibly fun, but also that I had a drive to learn and get better that I hadn't felt in any other sport throughout my youth. I fell in love with the sport. As a setter, I dedicated myself to many hours in the gym with my setting coach as well as striving to get better with my teammates throughout the high school season. Coming on to the varsity squad my junior year, I was timid, but quickly gained confidence as the starting setter and helped my team to a league title. It was then when I saw collegiate volleyball as a possibility for my future. I started playing club volleyball after that high school season ended, and since then, volleyball has become my life. I spend hours a day watching footage of college teams playing as well as setting a ball against the wall in my living room, eager for the next practice to come around. For the coming season, I am excited to captain my high school team and push us as far as we can go. I am dedicated to being the best volleyball player I can possibly be and dream of playing at the college level.
