I have been an athlete since I was four years old. As an incoming Freshman in high school, I was cut from two sports that I had played most of my life, baseball and basketball. It was a difficult time for me.
However, it led to one of the most important decisions in my life: to learn a new sport, volleyball. Prior to my freshman year, I started playing club and made my high schools JV team as a freshman. As I continued to play and excel at the game, I realized I wanted to work harder and strive to play at the collegiate level. I also knew this meant a commitment to my grades. Therefore, I focused to do my best both academically and athletically. I currently have a Weighted GPA of 4.35
As a Sophomore, I earned the captain role and led my JV team to a league championship. For my Junior year, I made the Varsity team and became the starting libero, playing this position for the first time, for a top team in southern California.
With my growth, I have learned the important values of teamwork and commitment to education. My goal is to learn more at a college that challenges me both academically and athletically.
In addition to talent, I believe I have the work-ethic and characteristics to compete at the college level and make a positive impact on any team.
