I have a unique volleyball story. My parents met playing volleyball in college recreationally, its kind of been a thing in my family. But because I lived in South Carolina most of my life there weren't any opportunities for me to play volleyball. But when I moved to California the opportunity presented itself. I tried out for my school's team and next thing you know I am the starting outside hitter as a Sophomore, my first ever attempt at the sport. Its quickly become my passion. I loved it so much, I spent the first summer going to as many camps as I could, the following fall I managed for the girl's team, so I could be around volleyball as much as possible. I love volleyball and want to do it all the time.
I have been attending one of the more difficult schools in Southern California which took me a little while to figure out how to manage their academic expectations but it looks like I will graduate from with my Associates Degree upon my high school graduation. I feel like I have proven to myself that I can do college level academics.
My dad is a pastor, so I would really love to be in a program where that is a priority for either the school or my coach. My faith has really developed me in having compassion for others and understanding I represent more than myself in life. I think I am the leader I am because of everything I have learned about God in church, my parent's life, and our family living on mission. Moving to California from South Carolina was a big step of faith to me but I felt "called" to it. Now I think I can make any transition successful no matter how big a transition it may be.
So, if your program is in need of a player who has a undiscovered ceiling, loves volleyball with a passion, isn't a risk academically, and is capable of a big life transition - please check out my profile!
