Hi,
I am a Senior setter and a libero, and I want to take my passion to volleyball to the collegiate and professional level. I have played volleyball for over three years and am hoping to be able to play throughout college. My attitude towards volleyball is what makes me different from others, because I analyze my own mistakes in order to improve my ability. I have maintained a 4.0+ GPA as well as scored a 1360 on the SAT, ranking me in the 95th percentile.
What makes me different from other people is the way I take advantage of my obstacles. Instead of asking the question "How tall are you?" or "How high can you reach?", I ask myself, "Despite my height, what am I good at and what can I be better at than others who are taller and jump higher?". My answer to that has always been determination. My commitment to training and bettering my technique and consistency is what allows me to overcome the obstacle of height, therefore, creating a different style of setting that most coaches teach. And my perspective on the game allows me to make the smartest choices to give my hitters an advantage against the block.
