Jacob Selsky '14 Recruiting Profile

I am a left-handed, 6'0" junior, libero from Cary, Illinois and will graduate with the Class of 2014 from Cary Grove High School. I currently have a weighted GPA of 4.47 out of 4.0. This will be my fifth year playing club volleyball. I am currently the number one libero for 18 Mizuno at Sports Performance Volleyball Club. I have had the opportunity to play on a USA High Performance volleyball team for three years in a row. I played for USA Continental White this past summer in Des Moines, Iowa where we finished 3rd overall. I enjoy playing for USAV HP because I get the opportunity to work with outstanding coaches as well as competing with players who have the same passion I do for volleyball.

I have proven over the years that I can play almost anywhere on the court. I've been told by coaches that I have a high volleyball IQ. I have also proven that I am able to manage academics along with a rigorous volleyball schedule. I possess strong leadership skills, as I have been the captain of three club teams and a USAV High Performance team as well. I am open to going to school anywhere throughout the nation where my academic desires would match my volleyball aspirations. My athletic goals are to make an impact on the team early and to compete at the highest level of competition possible.
