Connor Daniels '23 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coaches,

My name is Connor Daniels, and I am a 17-year-old, 5’7 Libero who plays for the Norwood Bears Men’s State League team in Adelaide, South Australia (Highest volleyball competition in South Australia). 

I am a senior (Year 12) in high school and will graduate at the end of 2023, enabling me to have one more year to refine my volleyball skills and gain life and work experience before attending college.

I currently expect to rank in the top 15% of students in South Australia based on Australian Tertiary Academic Rankings (ATAR). I have registered for the SATs on June 3, 2023 and am currently studying for this on top of Year 12. My aim is to join the recruiting class of 2024. I intend to major in Sports management.

My main attribute would be leadership as I have been leading and captaining my high school volleyball team, Investigator College, consistently since Year 7. I would describe myself as a motivated, passionate, and competitive player who, in a crucial fifth set, will have the confidence to execute the correct skills in order to win the game. My commitment and motivation has been shown through being the only person ever from my hometown to travel to Adelaide (1.5 hours away) to consistently play (and captain) both beach and indoor volleyball since I was 13 for South Australia.

I would like to surround myself with likeminded athletes with a goal of performing at an elite level. I’m very much a team player and believe I have the positive attributes and drive that the colleges may be looking for. I believe I am a person that can adapt to different situations and communicate in different environments. The colleges will challenge me physically and mentally, to excel not only volleyball but also life. If selected to attend at colleges, it would mean a move away from home, however I think that this will provide me with the life skills, independence, and confidence to achieve things not only in the short term whilst at the colleges, but also for the rest of my life.
