Zachary Butler '25 Recruiting Profile

From playing a family game of Uno to playing in the championships I've always been a determined winner. After exploring different sports, I discovered my true calling was playing volleyball. I love the sport and how it challenges me and that once I master a skill there always seems to be something new to learn. 

I started my volleyball career at the start of my sophomore school year (2022). With my ability to pick up new skills quickly, I qualified and represented my island in the 2023 Bahamas Games as a middle hitter in July. I took advantage of this opportunity to practice high-level volleyball amongst adults and sharpen my skills for my 2023 high school season. During this season my team won 2 tournaments and I was named MVP in one of them. I am also the captain of my club team where I'm known for my vocal leadership and versatility in facilitating the court when playing from all hitting positions when needed. 

Academically I am currently studying IB Higher Level Design Technology, Biology, and Geography and standard level English Math and Spanish. I would like to study Graphic Design, Film and Photography, or Communications in college but I am not 100% decided on my major. I am looking for a school that will challenge me athletically and grant me creative freedom in my respected major as well as presenting opportunities to gain connections that will help me succeed in the real world. 

I am committed to reaching my goals of playing collegic in the USA and making a name for myself for my family and friends back home who have supported me throughout this journey.
