From the moment I first stepped onto a volleyball court in Ecuador in February 2022, I knew I was on a mission to push my limits. I joined the Tigres volleyball team, and from day one, I threw myself into training with everything I had. Recognizing that I had a lot of catching up to do, I dedicated myself fully to the sport—attending training camps, practicing in double sessions, and spending hours at open gym practices. I worked 3 to 6 hours a day, with only Sundays (and occasionally Saturdays) as my rest days, which allowed me to make remarkable progress in a short amount of time.
A few months later, I moved to Honduras. The transition wasn’t easy, as the pandemic had delayed my chance to play for my school. But when the opportunity finally came, I embraced it without hesitation. Despite being smaller and less experienced than my teammates, I refused to be sidelined. I pushed myself through long training sessions and worked tirelessly to earn a spot on the AASCA volleyball team.
My dedication paid off—I became a starter on a team that finished as the runner-up, and I was recognized as my school’s Most Improved Athlete. However, with most of the team consisting of seniors, we faced a challenge the following year when many of them graduated. I took it upon myself to recruit new players, leading the effort to rebuild the team. This experience taught me valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and creating a sense of unity.
While the team didn’t achieve the same success the following year, I had a personal breakthrough. I was named the AASCA MVP of my team after scoring 20 points in a three-set match during my second game. I was also awarded Best Athlete of Volleyball by my school, marking a significant milestone in my growth as an athlete.
In the summer of 2024, I sought out the highest level of competition to continue my development. This pursuit led my team to become champions of the Liga Sub-18. My hard work and dedication were recognized by Copanecos, one of the best teams in Honduras, who invited me to join their squad. As the youngest player on the team, I am always a starter and a key contributor, proving my value through my determination and commitment. Playing alongside top players, including the best in the country, has further fueled my determination to compete at the highest level and continue improving.
I am also the guy who, no matter where, when, or with whom, will always be there for a game. Whether it’s a spontaneous match or a pickup game, I show up. It’s this commitment to the sport and my teammates that drives me to be better every day.
