Personal Statement
God, academics, and volleyball have been the center points of my life for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I have been surrounded by all three. My faith, going to church, and serving others are key aspects of my everyday life. Partly because of this, my parents chose to homeschool our family, which I believe has really benefited me. Something that motivates me in school is that I have a reading disability. It makes me work much harder because words don’t come easily to me. I have three sisters that have all played volleyball and I’ve gone to every game and many of their practices. I started playing organized volleyball when I was 10 and haven’t stopped. Just going to practice has been, and still is, the high point of my week. I love learning from my coaches and playing with my teammates. In 2015, my club team went to the BJNC seeded only 60th out of 66 teams, which really made me personally try that much harder to win. We finished 28th and it was an awesome experience doing so well at Nationals. Volleyball is a huge passion of mine and I would do it every day if I could.
