Jake Fritz '23 Recruiting Profile

Volleyball was a new sport for me coming into high school. I was attending captains practices and both me and the people around me noticed that I had some talent for the sport unfortunately my freshman year got canceled. Sophomore year was a blast and my skills improved as well as my teams but we ended with an underwhelming record of 1-9. I knew things needed to change. The next year I was elected captain and things turned around, we put in tons of hours over the summer and created something people wanted to be a part of. This was the first year our program had a JV team due to the publicity and excitement we created about the team. We had a winning record of 9-7 and we even made the state tournament for the first time in program history! 

I am someone who loves to be social and solve problems as a team in any scenario athletic or academic. This helps me be able to communicate with the people around me and make the people that I play with or people I work with better. Volleyball is the only sport I truly love, it’s the only sport I actually get excited to go to practice for and the only sport I have ever considered playing in college and am looking forward to doing so.
