Elijah Hamilton '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches,

I am Elijah J. Hamilton of Las Vegas, Nevada. I currently attend Durango High School and have played on the Boys' Varsity Volleyball team for 2 seasons. I am a junior and currently have a 3.8 GPA score. My major life goal is to become the first doctor in my family. I would like to become a Psychiatrist to help those with mental health concerns. Overcoming mental illness has been shown in my family with my grandmother being diagnosed with terminal cancer at 57 years old while being challenged by depression. My mother is a great example for me of battling and overcoming depression daily as she goes to work to care for me and my siblings despite her mental health concerns. My mother and grandmother have been great amazing examples in my life of people who fight daily to overcome and achieve their goals. I only hope to make them proud by continuing this strong legacy and overcomers and achievers. 

My passion for playing volleyball came from my mother who played in high school as well and was her team captain. I have been playing for the past 3 years and have quickly demonstrated my exceptional skills to my coaches. I was placed on JV and Varsity during my sophomore year because of my contributions to my team on and off the court. I am dedicated to my passion in volleyball that I wanted to improve my endurance level and strength level by playing football for the past 2 seasons to stay physically sharp during off season. I would greatly contribute to a college team by my in-depth knowledge of being a team player, academically focused, and dedicated to using my free time to develop my sports talents.
