Jacob Halpern '27 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches,

My name is Jacob, and I’m a junior at West Islip High School where I start as the Setter for our Varsity Volleyball Team. I love the strategy and teamwork that come with being a Setter—it's a role that lets me help my teammates succeed and bring out the best in everyone on the court.

This past season, I was honored to receive both the Suffolk County All-Division Honorable Mention and our team’s Rookie of the Year Award. As a freshman on JV, I was named Team MVP, which really motivated me to keep pushing and growing in the sport.

Outside of the school season, I play for Sportime VBC’s 16-4 travel team, competing in tournaments throughout the Northeast. I also spend most of my summers playing in camps, beach tournaments, open gyms—basically anywhere I can find a game.

In the classroom, I maintain straight A’s in AP and Honors courses, and I take pride in working just as hard academically as I do on the court.

I’m excited to find a college volleyball program where I can contribute, grow, and be part of something bigger than myself. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this—I’d love to connect and learn more about your team!
