Bennett de Tenley '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Bennett de Tenley, I am currently a junior at Panther Creek High School in Cary, NC and will be graduating in June 2024.  Growing up, I was fortunate to have played most every sport recreationally before playing competitive lacrosse for several years.  About 4 years ago, I attended some volleyball camps, summer open gyms and have been HOOKED ever since.  I was lucky as both my parents played high school, collegiate and adult club volleyball, so they knew the game and got me involved with sand and grass volleyball through local clubs too.  Since then my volleyball career has progressed at Triangle Volleyball Club (Morrisville, NC), where I currently play for the 17 Black team.

My primary position in recent years has been as right side/opposite in both the front and back row, but I also swing outside in 2 rotations. I have a consistent jump serve and have been diligently honing my passing game. Another fun fact is I started my indoor career as a setter running a 6-2, so have decent hands.

I am a strong teammate, on and off the court. I may be quiet at first, but once you get to know me, I’ll talk anime / manga at any time, enjoy sharing eclectic music mixes, playing cards, and having a good laugh.  It’s important to me to not only work hard with my team, but to also have fun!  I am confident I would be a positive addition to your xxx volleyball team and would bring valuable perspectives and insights to my academic and campus engagements.
