My love for volleyball comes from my dad he's been playing since his late teens. He has always pushed me to play at my school or a club team, but I was never interested, I always thought it was a "girls sport" I was so wrong.
I was homeschooled my whole life and have always had a passion for all kinds of sports, basketball, baseball, and football. My sophomore year was my first year in an actual school.
I planned on playing basketball, and baseball that year, but life had other ideas. I was cut from basketball, and decided not to try out for baseball as I wanted to play basketball in the spring to get prepared for next year. During this same time I had to take a gym class and I was scheduled for a volleyball class taught by one of the best teachers I have ever had. She really shined a new light on the sport and gave me a a whole new perceptive on it. My friend who was on the team pushed me to tryout for the volleyball team, but I was still not fully convinced. That was until we had a sand volleyball trip with our class and another class which had basically all the volleyball players from the team on it. I really had a connection with the sport that day and with the people, and on that day I knew I was going to play the following year.
This past season was my first season playing with my school team and I made varsity and started at middle it was a pretty good season. I knew after my first practice I had a passion for this game, unlike any other sport I've played. I enjoyed every aspect of volleyball, and made sure I gave everything my all. Volleyball is a game I want to be playing for years to come and I know I will do whatever it takes to play at the next level.
