My name is Michael Dougherty and I am a junior at Nazareth High School. I have been playing competitive volleyball for four years, since eighth grade. I have played for my high school, a traveling club team and in the summer I play grass volleyball. My primary position is DS/Libero.
I fell in love with volleyball after watching my sister play. I am a good fit for a college program because I work hard both academically and athletically. I love making a perfect pass or digging the undiggable ball. I have a good work ethic, all my coaches say I’m coachable, I have heart, I never give up, and I am loud, very energetic and bring energy to my teammates.
On Club Lehigh, my travel club team, we won several medals. In high school, my freshman year, I made the Junior Varsity team and played Libero. I was also doubled rostered on Varsity. I received the Rookie of the Year Award from my coaches. I started on Varsity my sophomore year playing DS/Libero. My coaches awarded me with the Most Improve Player. Both years we made it to districts.
