Gabe Geertsen '25 Recruiting Profile

I’m a hard worker who brings energy, leadership and a strong work ethic to the court and classroom. My commitment to excellence is shown in my academics, I take AP, Honors and Concurrent Enrollment classes and am on the honor roll. I set high goals and work to achieve them, I’m a driven and focused student and athlete. I have a passion and love for the sport of Volleyball. I believe strongly in Character because it is essential in the impact we can have on our situations and surroundings. Having a strong character builds trust and ensures integrity, which is very important for a team’s success. 

Athletically I am an effective blocker and I have a quickness to get off the net in transition. I believe that middles have a lot of importance when it comes to running an offense at a high level and I love doing the job that middle blockers get to do. My ability to close the block with my hands already turned in towards the court as well as my ability to land quickly after a block to transition back into my approach are just some things that I feel I do at a high level. I embrace the importance of setting and closing a great block, transitioning back quickly and effectively, and also putting the ball away at a high percentage to help open up the pins. I also bring much needed energy and leadership and hard work to the court that my teammates feed off of. I can inspire and lead by example and I never give up. I believe that I display these qualities that would make a great addition to any team.
