Helping my 16U club team qualify in this year’s JO Classic division and finishing 6th place overall in the bronze bracket after coming in at 47th place has been the most rewarding experience thus far for me. By showing my team how dedicated I am to the sport and sharing my goal of wanting to make the Championship division, my teammates also stepped up their game. I felt like they looked up to me as their leader which motivated me to be a better role model for them. Through this experience I feel that I have become a better player, a better leader and our team is stronger and better prepared to compete at the national level.
Taking on that leadership role with my team this summer carried into my classrooms this year as I go into my Jr. year in high school. I’ve never been so focused, more organized and more disciplined in my studies. I not only strive to get good grades in all of my classes but I’m also applying myself more in our student body community. I realize now that I do have what it takes to be a student athlete not just in high school but also as a collegiate student athlete. Therefore, I’m looking for a program that can help me fulfill both of my academic and athletic goals. As a two sports athlete who is very technical, skillful, and coachable with leadership qualities I believe I can add value to any team!
