My name is Connor Tompkins, and I have been playing water polo for 8 years, as well as have been swimming competitively since I was 4.
As a freshman on varsity, I believed that I had to hold myself to a higher standard and take any feedback I could get to become the player I know I can be. As I have completed my junior season, I have tried to be a role model to my teammates by showing a strong work ethic and good sportsmanship. I try to present myself as an example for my other teammates as their success in the pool is just as important as mine. I have always thought that my team is just as important as family, and if a team does not work well together there will not be any success.
Outside the pool, I have earned my Eagle Scout Award this past year and I continue to be involved in Boy Scouts and volunteering in my community. I always put my academics first and my biggest interest is science. I am hoping to go into the medical field because I want to help people live a healthy life. By putting in hard work both inside and outside the pool, I believe I would be the player every coach hopes to have on their team.
