My first glimpse of water polo was in 7th grade when I was looking for a sport to play and I walked past a local high school's pool. There I saw kids throwing balls around and lots of whitewater; I was immediately entrenched. From there, I joined the club and quickly fell in love with the sport of water polo. In fact, before then, I tried football, hockey and swim team, all of which I've quit. However, my love of water polo has lead me to stick with it until now, in which I've spent countless hours on the sport. Now as an upcoming senior, I've developed a passion for this sport. As such, I've resolved to continue playing water polo in college. As a whole, I really love the aspects of the sport and am determined to continue playing at a competitive level. One aspect that sets me apart is that I am a student of the game. I am constantly trying to learn more about the sport and improve. I also strive on being a team player, whether it be in my club or high school team. While I have shown to be a proficient shooter, I'm not afraid of making my teammates better through setup passes. I have a well-developed knowledge of the game and a keen sense of awareness. I am a strong positive influence on the team and am not afraid to call my teammates out if it means that they will be able to learn from their mistake. Aside from the pool, I hold myself to the highest standards in the classroom. I have taken 9 AP classes so far and constantly push my boundaries as a student-athlete. All in all, through my time playing water polo, I have learned the value of work ethic, commitment, sacrifice, and having fun. I am fully determined to play at the next level, and I sincerely hope that you will consider me for a spot on your team.
