Personal Statement

Hi, I'm Alema Fitisemanu!

It would mean everything to me to play at the collegiate level for water polo! I know I will be a good candidate for a collegiate athletic team because I lead by example, mesh with teammates, and enjoy the benefits of hard work! I will show total commitment, and put in the time with water polo. I know with hard work always pays off, and I can show this outside of the water as well!

I have a challenging schedule with multiple AP courses, as well as past taken Honors courses. With all those classes I have attained a 4.0/ 4.0 GPA and a weighted 4.5 GPA. I will work for my education because I know the benefits that will come of it.

I love the challenge of both water polo and academics. Thank you and I hope to play at the collegiate level!

AwardsI have made Principal's Honor Roll freshman, sophomore and junior years. I achieved the Outstanding Academic All-American Award for the Olympic Development Program for USA Water Polo. I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boys Scouts of America program. I have lettered in Varsity Swim Team and Varsity Water Polo. I have received Scholar Athlete awards every fall and spring seasons for high school sports.
ActivitiesI volunteer as a Calculus tutor on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school before water polo practice. I also am an Eagle Scout and I volunteer on Wednesday and Saturday nights as an Assistant Scoutmaster for my troop. I also am a Youth Stake Committee Representative, meaning I plan county wide youth activities monthly and quarterly with a youth committee. I also volunteer with my church weekly visiting the elderly in our community and see how they are doing.
