Personal Statement
Studying and playing water polo in the United States will enable me to earn a university degree while developing my water polo skills. Three of my New Zealand coaches have studied and played at American colleges and all have highly recommended it. I have already played at U18, U21 and Senior Men’s level in New Zealand and would like to develop my water polo further.
I am an excellent team player and work with the coaching staff and all members of my team to achieve the best results. I am co-captain of my U18A team. I was the top goal scorer in my U18s, U21s and Premier College team, scoring over 100 goals this season. I also work hard on defense.
I enjoy the challenge and fast pace of water polo and playing as a Utility means that I can play wherever the Coach and team need me. I have played as a Utility for a number of years and having played different positions I have learnt from experience where and how it’s best to throw in to each player’s position and to look for opportunities that others may not see.
