My name is Carmen Vergara, I‘m 16, and currently a junior at Stanhope Elmore High School. For me basketball isn’t just a game, it’s a lifestyle. Everything that I do is to benefit my performance on the court. I have an amazing work ethic and I’m a really hard worker. Whether I’m at practice, training, or even at the Y, I never waste an opportunity to get better. I also believe my academics efforts are just as important as my athletic. I’m enrolled in all advanced/AP classes and make sure to maintain an A/B average. I currently rank top 50 in my class at 47 with a 3.7 gpa. Through out my high school career, I’ve been inducted in the National Beta Club, ENHS, and SNHS. I’m a member of FCCLA, FBLA, DECA, SGA, and I’ve also been elected ‘23-‘24 junior class president. This past year alone, I’ve submitted over 200hrs of community service hours and am very active with other sports at my school. I’m a primary student Athletic Trainer for baseball, softball, and soccer. Basketball means everything to me and I am willing to do anything and everything possible for me to play at the next level. I strive to be the best at any and everything I do and never settle for mediocrity. I‘m always pushing myself to my limits and each time I touch a ball, I push myself even harder since the last. So with this, I believe I’d be a great candidate (as well as asset) for any team.
