I am passionate about school because learning about something new excites me and I know the information I am taught will only help me throughout my life. I always strive for the best in academics, and I succeed because I choose to figure out why each concept or idea works in the way it does in any subject. Furthermore, my willingness to learn not only makes me a fantastic student but it also causes me to be a coachable athlete. I recognize and respect any of my coaches' position and realize that their experience and knowledge of the game can be used to further improve my basketball skills. I have had coaches who not only teach the game but have also taught me life lessons, which I will go to use on a later date. I work well with others and I believe in order to be apart of a great team there has to be chemistry involved. This does not stop me from competing with my teammates during every practice, though, which then pushes them to be the best players they can be. I am also not afraid or too prideful to admit when I have made a mistake because owning up to my mistakes makes it easier to fix them. I love basketball and I am determined to do what it takes to be the best player I can be. In addition, my interest in cross country and track has helped me increase my endurance and enabled me to becoming very familiar with running. Both sports have not only made me physically stronger, but also mentally. Overall, my prior experience and my eagerness to continue learning will be beneficial for any basketball team.
