My name is Greer Hoyem (teammates or coaches somtimes call me "G" or "G-Money") and I am in the graduating class of 2018 at Menlo-Atherton High School, in Atherton, California, where I have a 4.3 weighted GPA, with AP and honors classes.
My junior year, I averaged 19 points per game as a 6’ forward and was named League MVP and San Mateo County Player of the Year by the San Mateo Daily Journal. More importantly, our team three-peated as PAL Champs, we were named to the CCS Open Division (the only public school to be honored in this way; we finished 5th), and were seeded #1 in the Division 1 Nor-Cal State Tournament. It was a season of great achievements and I was incredibly proud of our team.
This high school season is different than then first three, as we are rebuilding as a program. I am one of two returning senior starters this year, and we’ve been rotating all 7 other healthy players off the bench for significant playing time. We are currently 6-4 and are on a 5 game winning streak, including winning our bracket at the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic for the third straight year where I earned backet MVP honors. So far this season, I am averaging a double-double, 19 points and 10 rebounds a game and have most improved my rebounding stats.
