Kady Porterfield '11 Recruiting Profile

I've been playing sports since 1st grade and I've always loved playing on a team. My athletic build gave me a good start and I use it to my full advantage. I'm 6 feet tall and 180 lbs. Basketball has become one of my passions and I would really love to play at the next level. I received MVP for the JV team both my freshman and sophomore year. I also played on the Varsity team during playoffs both years. I was team captain my sophomore year and I'm a huge leader on and off the court. As a junior, I led the conference in rebounds and blocks. I was also one of the top scorers and I made the All-Conference 1st team. My varsity team went undefeated this season and won the NSCIF Division 6 Championship. Summer 2010 I went to England and played basketball on an NBC International Tour team. We played 15 games in 9 days. We won the first 14 games but lost the last one. It was a great experience playing overseas. My senior year we returned to win the NSCIF Division 6 Championship where I was named championship MVP. This season I wasn't only top conference scorer but I was top section scorer of all divisions which was a huge accomplishment. I also became conference and team MVP. I continued on to play in two section all-star to end my senior year of basketball.  I am now attending and playing basketball and volleyball at SUNY Cobleskill where I am studying for a Bachelor of Technology in Agricultural Business.  I had a successful freshmen here and was starting center in every game.  I was also nominated for All-Conference Rookie.
