My name is Aletha Singleton. I’m presently a 5' 4 starting guard for the Franklin High School Varsity team as a junior. I have been involved with athletics since I was 5 years old, starting with gymnastics. I have participated and excelled in various youth sports including basketball, flag football and soccer. Upon earning a starting spot as the point guard during 7th grade year, I decided to focus primarily on basketball along with track and field. As a freshman starting point guard on the junior varsity team, I was a key player during our one loss season. I was also voted captain and earned several awards. As a multi-sport high school athlete, I participate in the 100-meter sprint, 200-meter sprint, 4x100 sprint relay, long jump and triple jump events. Academically, I am involved in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) program to help in my future goal to become a Computer Science Engineer. Collegiately, I want to be a student athlete in both basketball and track while pursuing a degree in computer engineering. As a second generation, biracial person, my goal is to become only the second member of my family to earn a four-year degree as a student athlete. My dedication and leadership qualities would make me a positive addition to any team.
