Maaria Jaakkola #...Maaria Jaakkola #...I'm an exchange student from Finland and studying abroad in California for year 2016-2017. I'm a senior, graduating spring 2017 and playing varsity basketball.
I have played basketball since first grade and since then I have loved basketball. I'm a motivated trainee, so I always attend to all the possible practices and open gyms. Last season I played Finnish girls u19 national league with 8 points per game average while I was sixteen years old. And this season I'm playing on Dos Pueblos high school's varsity team, but because I'm an exchange student I can't play official games before 3rd of January.
For studying I have always been a succesful student. In Finland I was studying on the best high school of Finland, there we apply to high schools based on GPA. I'm also eager to keep up my good GPA here in USA and attend school activities.
Attending to college here in USA is an awesome opportunity for me and I'm extremely motivated to find a college where I can combine studying and playing a competitive basketball.
