Cara Susilo '22 Recruiting Profile

As the starting point guard for what will be all four years of Mira Costa High School's Varsity Basketball team, I have learned to be an effective leader both on and off the court. During games and practices, I urge my teammates to stay aggressive and I make sure they know where they need to go or who they need to go. When our team has bonding sessions, I make sure to include all underclassmen who often feel intimidated. 

I like to play fast-paced and push the ball as much as I can. I prefer to make the extra pass to get my teammates a shot, so I will often drive and kick to the low post for an easy layup. While I create shots for teammates, I also do not hesitate to take the open three, and I also look for the mid-range jumper off of an on-ball screen. 

My goal is to play competitive Division III basketball while pursuing an academically rigorous education. I hope to have the student-athlete experience to strengthen my collaborative skills and team skills while learning from elite universities or colleges. My top three majors are currently Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Health Engineering, and Biological Engineering.
