Throughout my childhood I was characterized by my interests, pastimes and favorite activities. My peers defined me as a basketball player, an athlete and sometimes an artist.
Beginning my second grade, I started training and playing basketball competitively. I train 3-4 days a week and play competitive basketball almost every weekend. Training and playing basketball in an early age furthered my competitive spirit. I always played above my grade, and continue to do so even to this day. I played with young ladies that are 2-3 years older than me. Playing with girls that were faster and stronger helped me develop and grow into a confident competitive player. It further bolstered me to evolve into a stronger player both physically and mentally. Any opportunity, I get to play pick up games or train with boys, I did. I learned a lot playing and training with the boys. I never let any opportunity to learn go by.
Since 3rd grade, I have been playing AAU and beginning this year (2022) Varsity . It is fun and exciting to apply my learning and training in high paced games and against strong skilled players. With the help from my teammates, I use several different skills and moves to advance the ball to the basket and be able to score.
In my down time, I love to draw. I love to create images that express my feelings, thoughts and my personality. Art has always been an escape for me. It helps me tap into my imagination and focus all my thoughts into a creation that depicts who I am and what I am feeling in that moment.
Lastly as a follower of Christ, church has been important in my life. Doing everything I can to serve the Lord, spread his love, kindness and compassion by engaging in community activities and serving the under privileged has been fulfilling. I have learnt many lessons that has helped take me places where I have never been (metaphorically speaking). My mission is to pass on these values and morals to those who have yet to sought to seek their purpose in life and introduce them to a new world where they can thrive and prosper through basketball.
