Marisa Wright '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'9" starting scoring guard for my Cocoa Beach Varsity HS team.  I'm a 3 year varsity letter winner. I am in the top 20 in every statistical category in the Cape Coast Conference. I led my team in scoring the final 5 games last season as we won the District Title. I have been elected TEAM CAPTAIN for my senior year and am leading our team in scoring, averaging 12 ppg.  In AAU ball, I have won MVP and All-Tournament awards, and am the team captain with my Orlando Comets team. My basketball I.Q. is superior to most, having played ball competitively since the 4th grade.
Academically, I have a 4.0 GPA in the International Baccalaureat Program (IB), and have a 28 on my ACT score. I have been receiving numerous partial academic scholarships from various schools, but I would love to combine my academic awards with any athletic scholarship money and continue playing basketball in college. I want to be able to afford furthering my education so that one day I can become a Nurse Practitioner or an Optometrist.
