Cassidy Bailey '12 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Cassidy Bailey, a 5'8" point/shooting guard from St. Augustine, Florida who attends St. Joseph Academy. As tri-captain this past 2010-2011 season, I helped lead my team to a 20-6 season as District 2A Player of the Year and 2nd Team All-County. My strengths include being a triple threat scoring option averaging 14.2 ppg, making 42 three pointers shooting 43%, and dishing out a season high 15 assists. I have been a three year letter winner, playing on varsity since my freshman year and earning a starting position as a sophomore earning All-County Honorable Mention and the Most Improved Award. Over the last 3 years, I have played AAU travel basketball, my first year for the Lady Wolves, and the past two years with the St. Augustine Celtics 16U in which I've competed on a national level against top ranked competition. Additionally, as a well rounded student-athlete I played volleyball my freshman year; flag football and swimming my sophomore year. I am a hard working student-athlete that inspires to excel on the court and in the classroom, being involved in numerous clubs such as American Sign Language (ASL), National Honor Society, Key Club and Respect Life Club. I've also taken an active role in giving back to the local community by volunteering my time with Pink up the Pace for breast cancer awareness, raising donations for Cure for Katie to help a teammate fight in her battle over Hodgkin's disease, and my family foundation support for Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. My aspiration is to obtain a quality education while fulfilling my dream to play college basketball. Academically, I am looking to major in business or interior design. I am a motivated, hard working young lady who likes to lead by example with her actions to give 100%. My strengths include the ability to shoot the 3 pt., dribble drive to the basket, leading my team in free throw attempts this past season, and being a positive floor leader. This off-season, my goal is to take my game to the next level by becoming a complete player through improving my ball handling, mid range jumper, and defense. I am currently seeking the opportunity to become the best I can be; by getting a quality education, playing for a team where athletics is a priority, and playing the game I love.
