“Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses.” -Kobe Bryant. Basketball to me is everything, my sorrow, hurt, pain, passion, and opportunity. It is what taught me teamwork, adaptability, sportsmanship, and love towards my teammates. I started playing this thrilling game when I was in kindergarten. After one or two years, I realized that this was what I was meant to do. After I had found my passion I want to do whatever it takes to get to the top. I realized a long time ago that getting to the top is going to have to take sacrifices to be the best and to work hard at everything I do. Nothing in this world is just handed down to me. I love the game of basketball because it really helps with being a better person. It has taught me so much not just for things on the court but also off the court in our own lives. Basketball has helped me be the leader I have always wanted to be. I am now able to connect being a leader on and off the court. Basketball has always been with me and I never want to leave the game. I want to play in college because I will be able to prove to myself that when you put your mind to something you can achieve anything. Also because it is my heart’s desire.
