In my junior season at North Gwinnett High School I was a starter for the third straight year. As a freshman, I was primarily a traditional back to the basket post player. But as I’ve gotten older I have worked very hard on my outside perimeter game. I have a solid mid-range jumper and I feel I can play the 3 or the 4 in just about any offense. I feel like my flexibility as a player would be helpful to any team.
My biggest asset is my physical strength. I’m strong enough to defend girls bigger than me in the post, but I’m quick enough to cover girls on the perimeter and use my strength as a huge advantage against smaller girls on the perimeter. I feel like my ability to play defense in the post or cover a girl on the perimeter makes me an asset to any team.
I’m always working on my game to improve and get better. In just two years I went from a player whose only offense came around the basket, to someone who can stretch the defense and hit a 17 – 15 foot jumper regularly. Every coach, instructor, or camp evaluator will tell you that every time they see me I have improved from the previous meeting. I feel that one best ways to become a better player is to outwork everyone around you.
