Personal Statement
I started my varsity basketball career my junior year of high school. My team and I struggled through the season, making it to districts and then losing to our rival Homedale, ruining our chances of attending state that year. Returning this year, my teammates and I were able to be district champions and were grateful to compete in the state tournament. Without determination, fundamental abilities and a faith in God, I know I would not be anywhere near where I am today. I’m looking to attend a school that increases the skills of leadership and knowledge I already contain. As well as adding to my professional network both academically and on the court.
Knowing how it feels to lose everything we worked for, and then to come back and be a state contender was a major turning point in my career. I know how it feels to lose, and I hated every minute of it. I know that you cannot win a game with one person alone, but one person can make a big difference in the outcome. From my consistency, reliability, productivity, coach-ability, I know that I can be the player to make a difference for your team.
