I am currently a Junior at Gary Comer College Prep in Chicago, Il., playing Center and Forward positions on my school girls' basketball team. For the 2018-19 basketball season my team has made many accomplishments and are the first team of the school to win City Championship as well as, Regional Championship games for the 3A level. As we continue to make history for our school, we continue to fight Individually to be the best student athletes we can be.
I have worked extremely hard to be able to play on a High School varsity level, and have given my all to bring my GPA up this year. Sports have been a major part of my life since the age of 10. I started Cheering at this time, and as I grew, my interest in other sports grew. After cheering for a while my hunger to playing multiple sports year around increased. After entering High School I realized that being athletic was not good enough and I needed to practice and study harder than on the grammar school level. Basketball has been my main interest as a student athlete, although I also play Volleyball and Softball. My GPA has grown over the last 6 months, from 2.0 to a 3.5, through my hard work and dedication to my education and my hunger to play sports and to learn new things.
Sports has taught me how to win and to lose gracefully, how to work in a team environment, as well as, the fundamentals of life through multi-tasking my daily duties, acquiring time management, and being responsible for completing the tasks needed to accomplish my goals and aspirations. I currently crave the opportunity to play and learn on the collegiate level. I therefore have set forth a list of goals and a timeline to complete the goals in order to make this opportunity possible.
