Basketball to me, is not just a sport. Basketball is my passion and my fire. Growing up around it, I found myself very interested and began to play around third grade. When I slip into my basketball shoes with a basketball in my hand, I feel powerful. I feel I have importance. I think what I provide for my team can be improved every game, and I strive to accomplish that. I dedicate my energy and time toward trying to be better than the game prior. I balance my time and my school work where I take some honors classes and maintain a 4.0 GPA. My goal is to receive a basketball scholarship where I can further my education. I’m determined to learn more educationally and athletically. I know with hard work and time, I can achieve any goals I set for myself. I’m hungry for every opportunity I get and I’m willing to fight. I don’t want basketball to be over after high school. To me it’s like a different world. Basketball has taught me many important things besides using the ball. I know how to handle being under pressure, how to work fast, and how to strategize in order to gain something. It’s not just a game but a skill.
