Currently recognized by Prep Girls Hoops as the #27 player in Illinois Class of 2019. Noted as one of the top floor generals at Chicagoland Invitational Showcase, November 2018.
I am proud to be recognized as both an accomplished 3 sport varsity athlete and a determined student. I believe my strong work ethic, both on the court and in the class room, have allowed me to achieve lofty goals, and to also earn the respect of my teammates, coaches, teachers, and classmates. These attributes have also earned my the special honor of having been recognized as an all-conference athlete in all 3 sports. My leadership was also recognized when I was named Captain of the Girl's Varsity Soccer team as a freshman and junior, and MVP of the 2017 Cross Country team.
On the court, I earned the position of starting point guard as a sophomore, and I committed myself to being a team leader who protected the basketball by limiting my turnovers, distributed the ball with an unselfish style of play, and played tenacious defense with the encouragement of my coach and former WNBA player Lacy Simpson. I am routinely responsible for guarding our opponents best player, and I have consistently held them to performances well below their average. In my 2 years as starting point guard, our team has a combined record of 45-16, with 2 conference championships, 2 regional championship games and one regional championship. During our 17-18' season, I lead my team with 91 steals and 75 assists, was third on the team in rebounding, while averaging approximately 5 points per game.
In the classroom, my work ethic has allowed me to achieve a 4.0 GPA while maintaining a challenging class schedule of both honors and AP classes. I am active in supporting the school as a member of student council, LINK crew (a freshmen orientation program), and I was recently selected to represent Grayslake Central at the Illinois Leadership Seminar in June of 2017. This seminar hosts 1 sophomore from each high-school in the Chicagoland area, and I was honored by being chosen from my class of 350 students.
I am also proud for my efforts to start a not-for-profit organization which provides blankets for the homeless during the winter. With the help of my friends, we have raised funds and produced over 75 high quality fleece blankets which we have given to the homeless shelters in our area. Our goal for 2017 is to provide over 100 additional blankets.
I am confident in telling you that with me you will get a player who will lead by example, support her teammates, maintain strong grades, and support the school and local community. In short- you will get someone who will represent the school's image with honor and respect.
