Hi my name is Samantha Webb, I am a 6'2 power forward from Orland Park, Illinois. I've played basketball since third grade and want to continue playing at the collegiate level. For seven years I played for a small travel/club team, GSBS Stars, ran by George Shimko. I also have played on my high school team all four years at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in Palos Hills, Illinois. During my Junior high school season I was invited by Marvin Grover to play for his AAU team. I wanted to see if I could compete at the AAU level so I accepted the invitation to play for Universal Athletic Academy. I played this summer and fall AAU season with Coach Grover and I have found out that not only can I compete at the AAU level but I could excel! My height brings a lot to the table but my speed and 22" vertical allow me the to play three positions. I too am a capable shooter from mid range and at the 3 point line. I Love nothing better than getting a rebound and leading the fast break with my ball handling and passing skills. All of my coaches have stressed a team game so I believe my basketball IQ is a huge asset. One of the most important things to me is team chemistry and having a supportive and caring team. If I'm in the game or on the bench I am always trying to uplift and help my teammates. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement! I look forward to speaking with you!
