My name is Olivia Hagerty, from Rockford, Illinois.  At 5-4, I am currently preparing for my junior season at Rockford Guilford High School. This will be my second as a varsity starter. As a point and shooting guard, I’m a quick ball handler, solid shooter and I am best known for my speedy defense and one who’s not afraid to take a charge.

Coached at Guilford High by Matt Huels, I earned the Never Settle team award as a sophomore. An award voted on by teammates and given to the player who shows extraordinary hard work, effort and leadership. I am also a member of the Rockford Heat AAU program, allowing me to compete year round.

I carry a 3.57 GPA (4.0), earning two Scholar Athlete awards and placing me in the top 10 percent of my class. ­­­As the chief editor and sports editor of the Guilford newspaper, the Voyager, I am leaning toward a degree in communications or journalism. I’ve also worked as a student sports reporter for a local news website. Some of my other interests include music, school activities, church activities and student government.

I am confident my skillset and leadership ability are a good fit for college basketball.
