Brooklyn Mears '24 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a junior at Hononegah Community High School in Rockton, IL. I have been playing basketball for 10 years now and have come to love it. I have found that it is a huge stress reliever for me and overall just puts me in a better mood. When I’m on the court, I am very good at communicating and leading the group when necessary. I am always putting in 100% and try to better myself all the time whether it’s on or off the court. This past year I was unable to play due to a shoulder injury, but I continued to go to every practice and game in order to support my team and still improve my own game even though I wasn’t able to play. I’m finally able to play again, so I’m working super hard to get back to where I was and to become even better than I was before the injury. Outside of basketball, I keep good grades and currently have a 4.4 GPA. I have an interest in education and speech pathology, so I’m also considering those majors when looking at schools. I’m really excited to find the perfect school for me where I can continue my basketball career but also start my future career.
