Lauren Walsh '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing competitive travel and school-based basketball since I was 7 years old, first from my hometown of Chapel Hill and over I I have been playing competitive travel and school-based basketball since I was 7 years old, first from my hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and over the past two years from my new hometown of South Bend, Indiana. I am a natural point guard, but am also comfortable playing at 2 or 3. My experience has included:

• - 2 AAU National Championships with the Carolina Elite 2024 Program on the Under Armour circuit.

• - Competing during the Spring/Summer 2022 season as a member of the Midwest Elite program on the Nike EYBL circuit out of Chicago, Illinois.

- Competing during the Spring/Summer 2023 Season as a member of the 1Nation program on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit out of Detroit, Michigan.

- Starting at point guard for the Varsity Upper School Program at Durham Academy High School in Durham, North Carolina during my 8^th grade and 9^th grade seasons.

• - After our family’s relocation to Indiana, starting at point guard for the Class 4A (Indiana’s largest high schools) Lady Kingsmen of Penn High School, a team that captured a sectional championship for the 5^th consecutive season before losing narrowly to the ultimate regional champions (in other words, we advanced to the final 16 in the highest-level division in the State of Indiana).

I was very proud be selected as a Captain of Penn’s Varsity team as a transferring sophomore given that Penn is a very established and respected girls basketball program. I was told that my selection as Captain at the beginning of the season reflected the work ethic, team focus, and contributions to our program’s culture throughout our pre-season workouts, which really meant a lot to me.

I have had an exceptional academic experience and record at one of the strongest schools in North Carolina (Durham Academy) for kindergarten thru 9^th Grade and now at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana. I carry a 3.54 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) in high school and scored over 1,260 on my SAT. I am confident that I can and will continue to excel in the classroom at the college level.

I will bring my team first attitude and tireless dedication to my college program and teammates, and hope to find a four year home with my coaches and teammates as my extended family.
