My name is Agapi Koutoula from Thessaloniki Greece , I am in the last grade of high school and my goal for this year is to earn a full scholarship.
To achieve this goal I have a plan of working hard to improve my basketball skills such as my athletic condition too. I have two or three practices a day which contain basketball skills improvement, speed and muscular strengthening. I am playing for the U18 team, the Women's team and also for my high school’s team. I am planning to take my SAT exams at the beginning of March but till then I'm studying every day to upgrade my English level as much as possible. As a student athlete I strongly believe that if you want to succeed in both studying and sports you have to make the right program to be comfortable with the hours of studying and training. The key to succeeding on the basketball court is being competitive, 100% there in every second of the practice and proving to yourself every day that you can do it and you will.
I have been playing basketball for six years now. In my first grade of high school I earned a scholarship to a private high school, Hellenic College of Thessaloniki, and I was a part of the basketball team. Unfortunately due to covid-19, things didn't go as planned, but this year our goal is to win the national championship and then attend the international.
The college setting I feel like I would do the best in is a college of max 5.000 students, so I can have more personal time with teachers and feel like a family especially because I will be really far away from mine.
As far as my academic career is concerned I find really interesting climate change studies. I think that as an athlete I learned that if there is a problem we have to work hard to solve it, and at the time our planet has a lot of problems so we have to work hard and solve them.
Athletic Psychology is also something I'm really interested in. In my point of view I have an advantage in addition to other students because being an athlete and seeing some things from another angle is the best for that field. Also physiotherapy which is by far my favourite course, because I see the importance of this job everyday. Last but not least biomedical engineering also catches my eye. It's the key to improving medicine.
Thank you for your time
