Personal Statement
When I think about college, there are three things that are important to me: finding a school with a good reputation in my chosen major, playing an important role on a successful basketball team, and enjoying my college experience!
I am currently in the last quarter of my junior year of high school with a 4.0 GPA. Learning and grades are very important to me, because I know those are keys to being a successful student-athlete and to being successful after college.
Extracurricular activities are also very important to me. I am a KAY Board Member and a Student Council Representative. In those clubs, I help the community through service projects. I am an official for our local Rec Program, help with local basketball camps, volunteer to read to grade school students, and strive to set a positive example for my peers and younger kids.
My dad being a high school basketball coach, I’ve been around basketball my entire life. It is my passion. I have a high basketball IQ and many skills that make me a complete basketball player. I am a solid defender, a good rebounder, and a willing passer. I read the court well. I can shoot the three and also take the ball to the basket. I am not afraid of contact, leading my team in free throw attempts. One of my strengths is versatility in that I have a positive impact on many aspects of the game.
I work hard every day, love a challenge, and am committed to a “team first” mentality, so I am hoping to find a school and team that are a good fit.
