Personal Statement
I transferred to The Williston Northampton School this year, reclassified as a Junior, and will graduate with the class of 2023. When I was a Sophomore at Granby Jr/Sr High School, I played as a guard/small forward for the Varsity Basketball team. I have aspirations of playing at the collegiate level while pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Science. Even though I put a lot of time practicing to develop my basketball skills, I have always placed a high standard on performing well academically. Therefore, I am looking for a college that will satisfy my needs both academically and athletically.
I have been playing competitive basketball since third grade; however, my passion for the game really blossomed in seventh grade when I had the opportunity to play on the JV basketball team for my high school. It was during this year I realized that I had to improve my skills in order to be competitive at the high school level. Since then, I sought out a private coach to develop my basic shooting and ball handling skills, attended several summer basketball camps, played with several AAU basketball teams from all over New England and most recently had the opportunity to attend basketball clinics instructed by Lou Roe. During my training with Coach Lou, I learned about the level of dedicated practice required to continually improve my skills in order to play at the next level. I highly value positive feedback from my coaches in order to improve my game.
Playing in college is a dream of mine. I would classify myself as a team player. As much as I love to take the open shot, I also love to feed my teammates with a pass in order to assist with the score. My favorite position is point guard, but I am experienced in both shooting guard and small forward. Therefore, I continue to improve both my ball handling and shooting skills in order to stay competitive anywhere on the court.
