I have been playing basketball competitively since I was 9 years old.
In high school, basketball became more like a lifestyle than just a game. My freshman year, I began playing on JV and was moved up to the Varsity team mid-season. Since then, I've held a starting position on Varsity beginning my sophomore year.
My only goal is to beat the me of yesterday. I train hard; I strive to be a better and larger contributor to my team every game, and to do that, I log a lot of hours in the gym, and when I'm in the gym, I train as hard as I can. I have a lot of personal goals: to get stronger, get faster, gain a better knowledge of the game, and to increase my mental toughness. I have these goals to make myself better, but these all stem into my main goal: to be a consistent and calm force on the court for my team.
I hope to play college basketball for someone reading this personal statement, and I hope to bring these personal goals to a new team under your coaching.
On the court, my strengths lie in outside shooting and in play-making, but my biggest strength is my hustle. At 5 foot 6 inches, I average 9 rebounds a game, and that isn't a testament to my proximity to the basket, but to my will to get there.
My passion for the game comes out on the court in every game, every practice, and every scrimmage.
