HNU Women’s Basketball signs Santos
OAKLAND, Calif. – On Friday, Holy Names University Women's Basketball signed Hannah Santos. Hannah comes to the Hawks from Bishop Manogue High School in Reno, Nev. During her senior season, Santos averaged 12.4 points-per-game, 3.8 rebounds-per-game and 2.0 assists-per-game. One of her season highlights included a 7-for-8 performance from 3-point range against Douglas High School (Nev.) leading Bishop Manogue to a win.
"I am excited about the incredible opportunity that I have been given to be part of the Holy Names Women's Basketball team," says Santos. "After meeting Coach [Dave] Covell and my future teammates during my visit, I knew that Holy Names is the place for me. I look forward to contributing to the program and I will work hard during the next four years to help make the team one that HNU can be proud of."
Covell states, "Bringing in a shooter and player like [Santos] will help extend defenses and allow us to be more consistent on the perimeter as well as create avenues to the basket."
The hard work and dedication in the classroom and on the court will be a great addition to the Hawks family as stated by her high school coach, Craig Holt "[Santos] has been a four-year varsity player for me and set the all-time school record for 3-pointers. Hannah is a tremendous 3-point shooter who will help your program open up the inside post players opportunities. She is a great kid to coach and great family support."
Academically at Holy Names, Santos will be studying criminal justice.
